Kenedougou: The President of the special delegation of the commune of N'dorola, Fatoumata Ouedraogo, led a consultation framework on October 23 and 24, 2025, focusing on cross-border natural resource management. This initiative involved participants from both Burkina Faso and Mali, specifically the border villages of N'Dorola and Koury.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was attended by the technical advisor to the governor of the Guiriko region, Souleymane Drabo, and the first vice-president of the commune of Koury, Ousmane Sanogo. The consultation aimed to foster dialogue among local authorities, community leaders, and development stakeholders from both nations to manage resources such as water, wildlife, and pastures.
Participants addressed conflict prevention in resource exploitation, promoting cross-border cooperation, and enhancing social cohesion between border communities. Key villages involved in these discussions were Diaramana and Koury in Mali, and Dein-Maissara, Deina, and Bangasso in Burkina Faso.
Fatoumata Ouedraogo expressed satisfaction with the discussions and the establishment of a collaborative framework. She urged continued efforts to strengthen cooperation and achieve sustainable development goals. Ousmane Sanogo echoed these sentiments, praising the spirit of understanding and emphasizing the commitment to work together for the sustainable management of shared resources.
