Burkina Faso: The Coordination of Young Muslims of Burkina Faso (CJMB) has taken a significant step in supporting the families of fallen combatants, with a donation totaling 1 million FCFA in cash and essential food supplies.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the CJMB offered this generous donation on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, to the widows and orphans of the Combatant Forces (FDS and VDP) who lost their lives in various theaters of operations. The donation package included 50 bags of rice weighing 25 kg each, 50 cans of oil, each containing 3 liters, and 50 bags of pasta weighing 5 kg each. Alongside the food supplies, the families received a financial envelope of 1 million FCFA.
The combined value of the donation, amounting to 2 million FCFA, was officially handed over to Colonel Lamine Ou©draogo, the Director General of the agency for support to widows and orphans who are victims of war (Asvovig). Aboubacar Dianda, Vice President of the Coordination, highlighted that this gesture is a compassionate act aimed at providing some relief to the families of the fallen fighters, especially with the Tabaski festival approaching.
Dianda also urged the people of Burkina Faso to back the government’s peace efforts to restore the nation’s territorial integrity. Colonel Lamine Ou©draogo expressed deep gratitude on behalf of Asvovig for the CJMB’s demonstration of solidarity with the families of the fallen FDS and VDP. He emphasized the importance of national unity in combating terrorism and supporting affected families.
Emilienne Zombr©, one of the beneficiaries of the donation, conveyed her appreciation to the CJMB for their support. She also encouraged others to emulate the coordination’s charitable actions to further aid those in need.
