Burkina/Yako: the Gomponsom team champions of the 18th edition of Vac Foot

The final of the 18th edition of the Maracana Vacances en Football tournament was won on Saturday September 16 in Yako by the Gomponsom team ahead of the RCP (3-1), a- we observed on site.

For his victory, Gomponsom received the sum of 300,000 CFA francs, a set of jerseys, a ball and the trophy.



The RCP ranked 2nd received in addition to a set of jerseys and a ball, the sum of 200,000 CFA francs.



Third in the ranking, Nagui FC left with the sum of 100,000 CFA francs plus a ball.



As for Tombogsom who is ranked fourth, she received the sum of 50,000 CFA francs and a ball.



Several special prizes including that of the Fairplay team and the team of honor were awarded during this final.



Placed under the sign of publishing awareness, union, and mobilization around the FDS and VDP for a return to peace in the country, according to Abdoulaye Dianda and his co-promoters, the competition had engaged 16 teams from the 7 sectors and villages of the commune of Yako.



In 18 years without interruption, Vacances en Foot is, according to Abdoulaye Dianda, one of the best talent detection frameworks for young people wishing to make a career in the field of Football in the Northern region.



On behalf of the organizing committee, Mr. Dianda expressed his sincere thanks to all those who contributed to the success of the competition.



According to him, Vacances en Football also aims to be a platform to disseminate messages of social cohesion and peace in a context where the nation is severely affected by terrorist attacks.



“Football Holidays is also a framework for detecting football talent for recruiters” declared the promoter.



“Through this tournament, we would like to offer scenes of occupation to the youth of Yako and Passoré in general,” said Abdoulaye Dianda.



Note that in the curtain-raising match, it was the alumni of US Passoré who crossed crampons with the 89-90 promotion of the Yako-mixed public primary school. The match ended with a score of 1 goal to 0 in favor of the said promotion.
