Bamako: A Burkinabe delegation, led by the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Pingdwend© Gilbert Ou©draogo, participated on Friday in Bamako in the commemoration ceremony of the 40th day of the disappearance of Malian filmmaker Souleymane Ciss©, who died on February 19, 2025. The event was held in the presence of the Malian Minister of Crafts, Culture, Hotel Industry and Tourism, Mamou Daff©, reports the Malian Press Agency (AMAP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, after the customary prayers and greetings, the officials paid their respects at the tomb of the illustrious filmmaker, in an atmosphere filled with emotion. The two ministers then wrote their last tributes in the book of condolences.
Mr. Ou©draogo offered the condolences of the Burkinabe people to the family of Souleymane Ciss©, paying tribute to the memory of this double winner of the Golden Stallion, an emblematic figure of Malian and African cinema, adds AMAP.
For his part, Mr. Daff© expressed, on behalf of the Malian authorities, his gratitude to the delegation and the Burkinabe people for their solidarity in this time of mourning, she concluded.
