Burkina: Training and the fight against terrorism on the menu of Burkinabè dailies

Today’s Burkinabè dailies deal with the training of young people in civics and the fight against terrorism.

The newspaper of all Burkinabè, Sidwaya mentions on its front page “Fight against terrorism: 20 people actively wanted”.

The newspaper informs that the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security is actively looking for twenty individuals presumed to be terrorists for participation or complicity in the planning or conduct of a terrorist act.

On the same subject, the dean of the dailies L’Observateur Paalga mentions “Fight against terrorism: 20 heads put at a price between 100 and 180 million”.

The newspaper informs that any citizen who will provide information likely to allow the arrest or the neutralization of one of these individuals, will receive the amount indicated on the photo of the wanted individual.

From another angle, the private daily newspaper L’Express du Faso displays on its front page “National service for development: 2654 young people trained are army reservists”.

The newspaper indicates that the government information service organized a press conference on Thursday, June 08, 2023 at its premises to allow the National Service for Development (SND) to take stock of the military training organized.

According to this same newspaper, the National Service for Development (SND) has been striving for decades to maintain the civic engagement of young people through civic education.

On the same subject, the newspaper Sidwaya mentions “National Service for Development: More than 300,000 young people trained in civics”.

The daily reports that the National Service for Development has, among other things, the mission of offering young people a framework for participation in the tasks of socio-economic development of the country, developing the civic and patriotic spirit of young people, initiative and confidence of young people in their own abilities.

The newspaper adds that since its creation in 1984, more than 300,000 young people have gone through the SND, 8,900 young people trained in trades, nearly 3,000 recipients of the vocational qualification certificate (CQP). 80,000 young people have were also trained in civics and 3,000 trained in heavy vehicle driving licenses.

The same newspaper continues that the lifting or recruitment of the 79th promotion of the SND will be launched on June 15 in Tenkodogo and will take place in the 13 regional capitals until July 1, 2023.
