Hundreds of men, women and young people stormed the Partiaga-Diapaga axis to clear the ground in order to remove foliage and tall grass that could constitute “caches for terrorists.

The rainy season rhymes with foliage and tall grass. These places benefit terrorists who make inroads into the city to commit crimes.

The persistence in recent days of a high level of the terrorist threat in Diapaga, with four attempts repelled during the two decades of August by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) requires the maintenance of strong vigilance at all entrances to the city.

On the strength of this observation, the population came out armed with machetes to prune the trees and clean the bushes which could constitute hiding places for the terrorists. This action also aimed to enable the deployment of the FDS and VDP in the theaters of operations. Work began with the Partiaga-Diapaga axis at the western entrance to the city, renowned for its dangerousness. This, under the watchful eye of the FDS and the VDP who monitored the smooth running of the operation.

From Pemboanga to Tounga, visibility improved significantly after this cleaning on August 15, 2023. An area of about 9 kilometers was cleared.
