The Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security (MATDS) held on Friday in Ouagadougou, a sectoral assembly of projects and programs in the “Defense and Security” sector with a view to to examine and adopt the project and program evaluation program, noted the AIB on site.
“The Sectoral Assembly of projects and programs of the “Defense and Security” planning sector is being held today with a view to examining and therefore adopting the evaluation program of projects and programs for the period 2021-2022”, declared the Secretary General (SG) of the Ministry of Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Security (MATDS), Sié Edgard Sou.
For Mr. Sou, it is an exercise in accountability which allows us to take stock of the results and above all make relevant recommendations to improve projects and programs.
“We pay particular attention to the regular holding of this consultation framework which, beyond any doubt, beyond the results of the evaluation which will be presented, allows all the actors involved to discuss the difficulties encountered and above all to make recommendations for the effective implementation of projects and programs,” added Mr. Sou.
He noted a certain satisfaction at the end of the evaluation where he revealed that out of 7 projects which were evaluated, 3 are of the first rank, 3 of the second rank and 1 of the third rank.
The Secretary General also indicated that there are difficulties which have been recorded.
Under these difficulties, he cited the projects and programs that are located in areas with strong security challenges therefore difficult not only to achieve performance, but also for evaluation.
"The evaluation gave certain orientations for all that concerns the zones which are in the particular situations, reoriented and especially improved the execution of these projects and programs, by involving all the actors", he added. he added.
The SG made a point of making a special mention to the technical and financial partners who continue to support the Government in the implementation of its development policies for the benefit of the populations.
However, he called on all stakeholders to perseverance and resilience in order to achieve a higher level of performance.
He concluded by indicating that the sectoral Assemblies which are held every two (02) years constitute privileged moments to discuss projects and programs
