OUAGADOUGOU — The Burkinabe Association of Telecommunications Professionals (ABPMT) is moving forward with plans to create an order that will serve as the unified body for telecommunications engineers and technicians in Burkina Faso, aiming to streamline representation and enhance collaboration within the sector.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Boureima Niampa, the proposed order would provide a single point of reference for professionals to engage with authorities and international institutions, supporting development projects in telecommunications. Speaking at the ABPMT’s general meeting on September 14, 2024, Niampa emphasized the order’s potential to foster innovation and research in telecommunications. The association currently brings together over 10 formal groups in the sector and advocates for their consolidation under a new umbrella organization, a key step toward establishing the order.
