Burkina: Sigma Corporation Africa Recognizes National Figures for Patriotic Commitment


OUAGADOUGOU: The 360° communications agency, Sigma Corporation Africa, honored several individuals for their merit and patriotic commitment on May 25, 2024. Among those recognized were journalist Baba Hama, theater professor Prosper Kompaoré, and director Aminata Diallo Glez of “3 men, 1 village.”



According to Burkina Information Agency, these distinctions were part of the Pan-African Observatory for Unity, Integration, and Sovereignty (OPUIS AWARDS 2024), supported by Sigma Corporation Africa. The aim was to show the country’s gratitude to those who have significantly contributed to its development. The jury, led by Me Issouf Savadogo, awarded various prizes, including the Joseph Ki-Zerbo prize for education to Professor Prosper Kompaoré and the Jacqueline Ki-Zerbo prize for women’s progress and promotion to the Association of Women Lawyers from Burkina Faso. Filmmaker Aminata Diallo Glez received the Guimbi Ouattara prize for artistic and cultural excellence.



The Norbert Zongo prize for integrity, peace, social justice, and press freedom was awarded to Chrysogone Zougmoré and Baba Hama. The Yacouba Sawadogo prize for environmental protection was given to farmer Salifou Ouédraogo, with a posthumous award to Idrissa Ouédraogo. Special prizes were also awarded to the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and the Norbert Zongo National Press Center. These awards recognize both historical and future contributions to Burkina Faso’s development.
