Burkina Resettles 127 IDPs for Agro-Pastoral Production

NÉBOUN — On Monday, the Ministry of Solidarity, led by Minister Nandy Somé/Diallo, resettled 127 internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the streets to a 60-hectare site in Néboun, Center-West, for agro-pastoral production.

This resettlement, according to Minister Nandy Somé, is a key component of the government’s strategy for the socio-economic reintegration of IDPs, aimed at preserving their dignity and facilitating their social integration. The resettlement program includes psychosocial care, accommodation, and support for agro-pastoral activities for 120 households. Each household will also receive one hectare of land for agricultural use.

In addition to housing support, the IDPs received food supplies including two tons of rice, one ton of corn and beans, as well as non-food items like mats, seeds, and agricultural equipment.
