2nd “Russia-Africa” Summit: the President of the Transition, Head of State in Saint Petersburg

(Ouagadougou, July 25, 2023). The President of the Transition, Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE left Ouagadougou today for Saint Petersburg in north-eastern Russia where the 2nd Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum “Russia-Africa” will be held from July 27 to 28.

Placed under the theme: “for peace, security and development”, the summit will bring together some fifty Heads of State and Government of the African continent around Russian President Vladimir PUTIN with the aim of establishing a new mutually beneficial partnership between Russia and the continent.

The participation of the Head of State in this meeting is part of the strengthening of the desired and affirmed cooperation between our country and the Russian Federation with a view to finding solutions to the double security and humanitarian crisis that our country has been facing for more than seven years.

The summit and the economic and humanitarian forum of Saint Petersburg are therefore springboards for exploring all areas of cooperation, including politics, security, economic relations, science and technology, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In addition to his participation in the summit, the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE will have bilateral exchanges and will grant audiences, always within the framework of the search for solutions for the security and development of Burkina Faso.
