Burkina: Presentation of trophies to the various partners and sponsors of the 5th edition of SAMAO

The national organizing committee of the 5th edition of the West African Mining Activities Week (SAMAO) 2023 presented yesterday, Friday, trophies to the various partners and sponsors of this edition during a gala dinner in Ouagadougou.

According to the Minister in charge of Mines, Simon Pierre Boussim, the enthusiasm of these two days allowed the actors and the population to discover what is happening in the mining sector, and also for the actors to do good business in terms of business.

‘We are satisfied with the organization, we would like to congratulate the organizing committee which has invested heavily so that this activity can succeed,’ he declared.

The first prize in the best stands, energy, mines and quarries category was awarded to the West African Resources Company.

Mr. Abderrahmane Guiré, exploration director of the West African Resources Company, declared that this award is a distinction to encourage players in the mining sector for their efforts in the sector.

The president of the natio
nal organizing committee of SAMAO 2023 Jean Baptiste Kaboré declared that there were commissions following well-given themes at the level of the national organizing committee, and the president of the B2B commission was responsible for choosing a certain number of independent criteria depending on the experts who made up the commission to be able to make the necessary distinctions.

For him, there were distinctions at the level of the National Organizing Committee for all those who contributed to the success of this event based on sponsorship, silver, gold, official sponsor, Godfather.

The president of the national organizing committee explained that there were various awards, and there were three (03) categories and each category was made up of the first three (03) winners.

Jean Baptiste Kaboré specified that the national organizing committee considered it necessary to symbolically present the President of Faso trophy which was awarded to the President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, who support
ed them enormously.

There is also a trophy of honor awarded to the guest country of honor which is the Republic of Chad.

According to him, the holding of this 5th edition of SAMAO had three particularities.

‘It was held following a desire by the government to hold this edition to reassure our investors, those who have confidence in Burkina Faso who are there, and also informed throughout the world that the sector is alive and that we are leading a policy to call on our investors to come and invest in Burkina Faso,’ explained Jean Baptiste Kaboré.

He affirmed that Burkina Faso signed for the first time a partnership with a private sector, SEMICA, which supported it in the organization of this 5th edition.

As a reminder, the 5th edition of the West African Mining Activities Week (SAMAO) 2023 opened its doors on Thursday, with reflections from stakeholders and experts in the said sector on better mining, with a view to impacting local economies.
