Ouagadougou: The Nong-Taaba Association of Disabled People offered school kits, soap, and buckets to around a hundred students, including orphans, children of disabled people, and internally displaced persons in Ouagadougou. This distribution took place on Saturday, October 10, 2025, supporting the educational needs of disadvantaged students.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Nong-Taaba Association provided a total of 100 school kits, 95 buckets, and 6 boxes of soap to students in district 3 of Ouagadougou. Additionally, girls in CM1 and CM2 classes received kits for hygienic management of their periods. The president of the Nong-Taaba Association for Disabled People, Georges Tebda, expressed that the donation was facilitated through the support of Catholic Relief Service.
Tebda emphasized that the initiative aims to ease the financial burden on parents in purchasing school supplies, thereby allowing children to return to school in favorable conditions. He also appealed for support from people of goodwill to assist children of internally displaced persons and those with disabilities in completing their studies.
Established in 2013, the Nong-Taaba Association for People with Disabilities has aided 2,725 children in their educational pursuits, with approximately 800 of them now participating in the workforce, as stated by Georges Tebda.
