Ouagadougou: A network of young patriots has extended support to the families of fallen soldiers in Burkina Faso by providing essential supplies and financial aid. The Network of Young Patriots for African Sovereignty (RJPSA) presented food and a financial package amounting to 300,000 CFA francs to the Central Directorate of Social Action of the Armed Forces. This aid is directed towards the widows and orphans of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation, which was handed over on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, in Ouagadougou, comprises one ton of rice, one ton of corn, 20 three-liter cans of oil, and a financial envelope totaling 300,000 CFA francs, with an estimated total value of 1,500,000 CFA francs. Colonel-Major Si© R©mi Kambou, the Central Director of Social Action of the Armed Forces, received the donation on behalf of the beneficiaries.
Larba Yam©ogo, the national coordinator of RJPSA, emphasized the importance of every individual’s role in the nation’s efforts to reclaim its territory. He expressed gratitude towards those on the front lines and highlighted the necessity of supporting their families, who contribute to the nation’s international reputation.
Colonel-Major Kambou appreciated RJPSA’s initiative, stating that the donation serves as a reminder to those on the front lines that they are not alone, and that the fight involves everyone, not just the military. He underscored the dual value of the donation, both materially and psychologically, for the troops and their families.
Hassan Ou©draogo, the sponsor of the ceremony, called upon other organizations and associations to follow suit in supporting the families of the nation’s fighters.
