Contributions to the Patriotic Support Fund increased between March 31 and June 2, 2023, by 164%, from CFAF 6.7 billion to CFAF 20.8 billion, rejoiced, on Monday, the Minister in charge of the Economy, Aboubakar Nacanabo.

“Today we were able to collect more than 20 billion CFA Francs under the Patriotic Support Fund and I think it is a very good performance which is to be credited to all those who have contributed”, declared the Minister in charge of the Economy, Aboubakar Nacanabo.

As of June 02, 2023, the amount of receipts amounts to twenty billion seven hundred fifty-two million five hundred seventy-four thousand six hundred ninety-five (20 752 574 695) CFA francs and there is therefore a 164% increase.

This amount, which is made up of voluntary financial contributions from natural and legal persons, is held at 99.54% in the books of the Public Treasury and at 0.46% in the Orange Money and Moov Money accounts.

Minister Aboubakar Nacanabo, spoke Monday in Ouagadougou, during the second orientation council of the Homeland Support Fund (FSP).

He said that everyone has contributed in their own way and that is really a very good thing, which shows that the Burkinabè know how to unite around the essential thing which today is to save the Fatherland.

Mr. Nacanabo therefore hailed this great initiative for the benefit of our Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

“The prospects are to mobilize citizens more, the idea is to bring as many Burkinabè people as possible to contribute,” he said.

The Minister in charge of the Economy also added that they do not intend to increase taxes, but to optimize on what they have already collected and to strengthen control.

“It is true that the amounts collected are very significant, but it is important that we can ensure that what needs to be collected has been done with the structures concerned,” said the Minister in charge of the Economy, Aboubakar Nacanabo.

As a reminder, on January 11, 2023, the Burkinabe Transition created the Homeland Support Fund (FSP), in order to allow Burkinabè to participate in the war effort to regain the integrity of the national territory.
