Ouagadougou: Burkinabe people have mobilized more than 33 billion CFA francs for the Patriotic Support Fund in the first quarter of 2025, Prime Minister Rimtalba Emmanuel Ou©draogo said on Tuesday. “As of March 23, 2025, an amount of 33 billion 31 million 991 thousand 476 FCFA has been collected, an increase of 6.55% compared to the same period in 2024,” declared Prime Minister Rimtalba Emmanuel Ou©draogo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the head of government spoke during the first ordinary session of the year 2025 of the steering committee of the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP). The Prime Minister noted that the amount mobilized in the first quarter of 2025 brings to more than 307 billion the total collected for the Fund since its creation in 2023.
The overall situation of the Patriotic Support Fund as of December 31, 2024, was a cumulative amount of 274,724,119,812 FCFA after two years of operation, he stressed. In light of this performance, the head of government praised all stakeholders involved in the mobilization of funds and encouraged continued efforts to achieve the expected results.
According to the Minister of Finance, Dr. Aboubakar Nacanabo, the Patriotic Support Fund has mobilized 175 billion in 2024 out of a forecast of 150 billion, representing an achievement rate of 117%. In 2023, the amount collected was 99 billion, marking a growth rate of 77% between 2023 and 2024, he specified.
“In 2024, there has been a lot of progress, and this is a sign of the commitment of all Burkinabe people who agreed to contribute to the Patriotic Support Fund,” the minister acknowledged. For the third year of implementation, officials plan to intensify communication in 2025 to garner greater support from Burkinabe people both inside and outside the country.
