BURKINA-MINES-WORKSHOP-TRAINING-ACTORS-CLOSURES Burkina/Minerals of development: Stakeholders discuss the challenges and formalities of formalizing the sector Ouagadougou, September 27, 2023 (AIB) - The president of the National Organizing Committee (CNO) of SAMAO, Jean Baptiste Kaboré indicated Wednesday in Ouagadougou during the closing of the pre-SAMAO that the actors discussed for 48 hours on the challenges and formalities of formalizing the development minerals sector. 'This meeting of giving and receiving which brought together different actors from the mineral development sectors from here and elsewhere, during these 48 hours allowed discussions between and others on the challenges and formalities of the formalization of the sector' , indicated the president of the National Organizing Committee (CNO) of the 5th edition of SAMAO, Jean Baptiste Kaboré. He said he was satisfied with the results achieved through the exchange framework with regard to the participants. The president of the 5th editio n of SAMAO spoke on Wednesday in Ouagadougou, at the closing ceremony of the pre-SAMAO workshop. Mr. Kaboré assured that the resulting recommendations and resolutions will make it possible to consolidate the achievements to make the development minerals sector a lever for the socio-economic development of our country. Jean Baptiste Kaboré also urged the various players in the sector to spare no effort in implementing the conclusions of the workshop and capitalizing on best practices. 'During this workshop we discussed the promotion and processing of development minerals,' indicated the Director General of Quarries, Arsène Tiendrébéogo. He informed that during the training, participants who did not know the minerals of development discovered these minerals and their importance. Mr. Tiendrébéogo recommended government support in the exploitation of these development minerals. 'We learned a lot of things and we are really very happy with everything that happened today. It gave us a lot of understanding to be able to improve the quality of our products,' declared the president of the potters of Tiéliba at the end of the training. She affirmed that one of the major difficulties is the lack of equipment which constitutes an obstacle to the accomplishment of their work. 'It's a sharing of experiences, since we have our own experience and we have just discovered the experience of other countries as well,' added for his part an operator of substances and quarries, beneficiary of the Arsène Hien training.
