Burkina Information Agency Marks 60 Years with Ceremonial Activities in Bobo-Dioulasso


BOBO-DIOULASSO — The Burkina Information Agency (AIB) commemorated its 60th anniversary with a ceremonial raising of the national colors and tree planting at the Western Regional Directorate of Editions Sidwaya (DRO) on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. This event celebrated the longstanding contributions of the agency to national information dissemination.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the Western Regional Director, the ceremony was designed to honor the AIB and its role across Burkina Faso. He highlighted the agency’s importance in providing daily information to the people, serving all 45 provinces of the country. The event also served to acknowledge the efforts of former employees who have contributed to the agency’s enduring presence and success over the decades.



Ouédraogo’s remarks underscored the significance of the AIB as a vital part of the nation’s information heritage and called on current staff and collaborators to continue their commitment to high standards of journalism. The anniversary event not only reflected on the agency’s past achievements but also emphasized the ongoing mission to keep the public well-informed.
