OUAGADOUGOU: The Burkina Information Agency (AIB) marked its 60th anniversary on May 27 with a ceremony that included a national flag-raising at its headquarters, the symbolic planting of a tree, and an address by General Director Assétou Badoh.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held on behalf of the Minister of State, Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, and the chairman of the board of directors of Editions Sidwaya. She expressed pride in the agency’s achievements over six decades and gratitude to the millions of Burkinabè who follow AIB’s work. “Sixty years is not sixty days,” Badoh remarked, emphasizing the daily efforts of AIB’s staff and correspondents. The ceremony included a tribute to Abel Edouard Bazié of the distribution service, who passed away on May 27, 2024.
