Burkina Government Sanctions Recruitment of 2,100 Police Officers

Ouagadougou: The Burkinabe government has sanctioned the hiring of 2,100 police officers, with the decision confirmed at the Council of Ministers meeting held on Wednesday. This recruitment drive aims to enhance the country’s national security apparatus.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the approved recruitment plan includes 2,000 officers to be hired via direct competition, and an additional 100 officers through professional competition. By 2025, the state plans to recruit 2,000 non-commissioned officers, incorporating 50 mechanics and 50 women, to bolster the police force.

The official document from the Council of Ministers meeting further elaborates that the recruitment process will also involve 30 police commissioners, 10 of whom will possess specific qualifications. Additionally, 70 police officers, with 10 having specific qualifications, will be selected through professional competitions.
