‘There is no point in walking the corridors of ministries to ask for a favor,’ Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla warned on Monday, reaffirming the will of his team, to govern in the interest of all, to continue to benefit from popular support, in particular that of the Burkinabè at the forefront in the roundabouts of the capital.

‘There is no point in walking the corridors of ministries to ask for a favor for the benefit of recruitment, transfer or a public contract. We’re not here for that. We are here to govern in the interest of all and give equal opportunities to everyone (in the spirit of equality).

May those who come from the most remote village in Burkina Faso have the same opportunities as those who live next to the leaders.

The members of the government, the Prime Minister, the President of Faso are assailed from all sides by sometimes insane demands.

It’s because you know the person. And those who do not know a minister, the Prime Minister or the President of Faso, how will their
affairs be resolved?

If you ask that your brother, your sister, your friend leaves Sebba to come to Ouagadougou, who will leave Ouagadougou to replace him in Sebba? (…)

He who fights for something, that is the thing for him. You can’t stay in your corner, sleep, do this and want to come and take the place of someone more deserving than you. There are laws and regulations for everyone.

If we govern in a non-impartial way, the flag will no longer have the same meaning for everyone, the flag will no longer be defended by the majority of citizens.

Those who are at the Ibrahim Traoré roundabout each time, those who raised the flags of the four countries (Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Russia) at the intersections of Ouagadougou, these are people who believe in the flag. These are people who believe in the impartiality of governance.

The day they realize that those who govern, govern in favor of a category of the population, they will stand out. To have popular support, we are obliged to govern in the interest of
everyone by respecting laws and regulations.

This is the only way for everyone to feel concerned about the flag and for the flag to express everyone’s pride and for it to be defended by everyone,’ declared the Prime Minister.
