Ouagadougou: The Combatant Forces struck a significant blow against terrorism on November 16, 2024, by successfully bombing a substantial weapons and fuel reserve in Taouremba, located in the Soum region. This strategic move resulted in the annihilation of the guards protecting the storage facilities as they were engulfed in the subsequent explosions.
According to Burkina Information Agency, prior intelligence efforts had marked these locations following the detection of survivors from earlier strikes in the Ouellé area near Titao. On November 14, aerial surveillance identified these individuals, leading to a missile strike on their hideout, ensuring their elimination. Continued monitoring until November 17 revealed suspicious activities, including individuals navigating through dense vegetation on motorcycles, hinting at another base in the Titao area. Two consecutive missile strikes eradicated the primary group and its remnants, paving the way for the Tinga and Tigré battalions to secure any salvageable eq
uipment.
On November 20, drones disrupted a terrorist training session southeast of Nouna, neutralizing several operatives with a fiery assault. Attempts by survivors to escape were thwarted, as another missile obliterated their efforts to salvage the situation. Ground units followed up to ensure the complete destruction of the base.
Further surveillance on November 17 detected a group of around a hundred terrorists attempting to establish positions in the areas of Pobé-Mengao and Gargaboulé. A significant subset settled in Silgaye, near Djibo, only to be decimated by a nighttime missile strike that obliterated their logistics. The following day, as remaining survivors regrouped, they were targeted and hit by another missile strike in a small forest. Fighter planes subsequently ensured no survivors remained hidden.
