Burkina Faso’s Transposition of UEMOA Standards Exceeds Expectations

OUAGADOUGOU — Burkina Faso has achieved a remarkable execution rate of over 86% in the transposition and application of West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) community standards, as reported by the Commission President Abdoulaye Diop on Tuesday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Burkina Faso’s performance was evaluated during a review which covered political, program, and project reforms, achieving an overall execution rate well above the performance threshold set at 70%. This announcement came after his meeting with Dr. Apollinaire Kyélem de Tambèla, the head of the Burkinabe government, in Ouagadougou.

Mr. Diop also highlighted the dynamic economy of the UEMOA member states, particularly noting Burkina Faso’s growth rate of over 5%, despite the challenging security context. He expressed the Union’s solidarity with the people of Burkina Faso amidst the ongoing security challenges.
