Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister and Moroccan Ambassador Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Ouagadougou: Burkina Faso's Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo, granted an audience on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, to the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Burkina Faso, Youssef Slaoui. The Prime Minister and the Moroccan diplomat discussed priority areas of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Burkina Faso and Morocco share a common vision based on mutually beneficial, proactive, and supportive South-South cooperation. This bilateral cooperation had a particularly busy agenda in 2025, notably marked by the holding of the 5th Joint Commission between Burkina Faso and Morocco on December 8, 2025. This session coincided with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

This Joint Commission was an opportunity to celebrate the friendship and fraternity between the two countries. Fourteen agreements were signed covering priority sectors, including agriculture, vocational training, trade, and security. The Moroccan diplomat emphasized the need to implement all these agreements through concrete projects that benefit the people.

In the context of strengthening this cooperation, the Moroccan diplomat also announced the implementation of an ambitious roadmap for 2026. He reiterated Morocco's readiness to support all efforts undertaken in Burkina Faso, expressing a desire to move forward with the cooperation and strategic partnership under the leadership of His Majesty the King of Morocco and the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.

This meeting illustrates the commitment of Ouagadougou and Rabat to building a pragmatic, respectful, and forward-looking partnership that will bring progress and prosperity to the people of Burkina Faso and Morocco.
