Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister Accuses Opposition of Revenge Politics

OUAGADOUGOU — Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla of Burkina Faso claimed on Monday that many opponents of the current transitional government are motivated by personal revenge after being denied governmental positions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, statements made during the monthly flag-raising ceremony at the Prime Minister's office, PM Kyelem described the opposition's actions as driven by spite and a desire for revenge following their unsuccessful attempts to secure roles within the new regime. He characterized their motives as lacking in genuine political agenda, with their efforts aimed only at undermining the state and colluding with terrorist elements to the detriment of national stability.
