Burkina Faso’s Operation Lalmassga Recaptures Dozens of Villages from Terrorists

Ouagadougou: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, has applauded the successful execution of Operation Lalmassga, which took place two months ago and resulted in the combat forces reclaiming control of numerous localities previously deemed terrorist strongholds.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation, named Lalmassga, meaning 'ice wall', enabled the fighting forces to infiltrate and establish themselves in areas that had been inaccessible for the past five to six years. President Traore announced on Wednesday during his end-of-year address that several strategic areas and dozens of villages had been recaptured.

The operation targeted regions including Nakambe, the area surrounding the Kompienga dam, and extended to Namungu in Goulmou, as well as Namsiguia near Djibo, and Toulfe, located between Djibo and Titao. The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces emphasized that the forces had successfully crushed the enemy on multiple fronts and established a lasting presence in the recovered areas.

President Traore highlighted that the ongoing momentum is part of a concerted effort to strengthen personnel, enhance internal training programs, and acquire significant heavy and strategic equipment. He assured that operations would continue towards the national borders to eradicate the terrorist threat and restore enduring peace to the population.
