Burkina Faso’s New Chief of Staff Commits to Loyalty and Patriotism

OUAGADOUGOU: Brigadier General Moussa Diallo, the newly appointed Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Burkina Faso, has vowed to execute his duties with unwavering loyalty and patriotism. He made this commitment during a formal ceremony to assume his new role, as reported by Burkina 24.



According to Burkina Information Agency, Brigadier General Diallo took command of the General Staff of Burkina Faso’s armies on December 30, 2024, in the capital city of Ouagadougou. This appointment follows a presidential decree dated December 19, 2024. Diallo succeeds Brigadier General C©lestin Simpor©, who has transitioned to a governmental position as Minister of State and Minister in charge of Defense.



Brigadier General Diallo, who was promoted to his current rank on December 17, 2024, by the President of Faso, has previously served in critical roles, including Deputy Chief of General Staff and Commander of the Special Rapid Intervention Brigade. His commitment to serving with dedication was reiterated during his inaugural address, underscoring his readiness to fulfill the responsibilities of his new position.
