Sissili: The Junior Chamber International (JCI) University Koudougou ‚¬°veil officially opened the second edition of the Student Forum 2026 on Saturday at Norbert Zongo University, aiming to stimulate student entrepreneurship through the green economy. According to Burkina Information Agency, the forum, themed "The green economy at the service of student youth entrepreneurship," seeks to raise awareness among students about the opportunities within the green economy and to strengthen their entrepreneurial spirit.
For three days, students will engage in training, communications, practical workshops, and exchanges with professionals in promising sectors such as plastic waste recycling, sustainable agriculture, renewable energies, the circular economy, and the valorization of local resources. Korotimi Ou©draogo, chairwoman of the organizing committee, emphasized that this edition aims to show that environmental challenges can be transformed into economic opportunities. The forum intends to equip students with practical knowledge, develop their networks, and promote the creation of green businesses.
The activities began with a clean-up day, organized with support from the Koudougou town hall, and will include training on transforming plastic waste into ecological paving stones, chairs, stools, and other high value-added items. JCI Burkina Faso's 2026 national president, Aboubacar Traor©, commended the continuation of the Student Forum, launched in 2024, and urged students to leverage the opportunities presented by this platform to prepare for their professional integration before completing their university education.
Enock Zouri, Chief of Staff representing the President of Norbert Zongo University, reiterated the institution's commitment to supporting initiatives that foster skills, creativity, and innovation among students, highlighting the green economy as a future sector capable of offering real employment and entrepreneurship prospects to young graduates. The ceremony also featured the launch of the "One student, one driver's license" club program, sponsored by Alexis Y©, which aims to provide 200 students with driver's licenses to enhance their employability and socio-professional integration.
Representing the ceremony's sponsor, Seydou Yam©ogo, Draman Son lauded the initiative that integrates innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development, encouraging students to believe in their abilities and turn local realities into opportunities for wealth creation. Through this second edition of the Student Forum, JCI Universitaire Koudougou ‚¬°veil seeks to nurture a new generation of young entrepreneurs dedicated to advancing a green, innovative, and sustainable economy in Burkina Faso.
