Burkina Faso’s Head of State Commends Injured VDP Fighter’s Bravery

Ouagadougou – Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the transitional President of Burkina Faso, recognized the exceptional bravery of a Volunteer for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) who continued fighting terrorists despite losing a hand in combat, as reported by AIB on Saturday from informed sources.

According to Burkina Information Agency, During a meeting earlier in the week, President Traoré met with the VDP fighter, who had been seriously injured in the line of duty, losing the use of his hand. Despite this severe injury, the volunteer continued to fight alongside his comrades, including a period with Captain Ibrahim Traoré in the Center-North region. This audience with the Head of State was intended to honor the fighter’s courage and determination in the face of adversity while defending the nation.

The sources further revealed that the battle against terrorism in Burkina Faso has reached a critical phase. President Traoré, as the Supreme Chief of the National Armed Forces, is focused on boosting the morale of the fighting forces as they advance towards a definitive victory against terrorist threats.
