Ouagadougou: The 2nd edition of the International Exhibition Synergie Sret©, D©fense et S©curit© is scheduled to take place from May 8 to 10, 2025, with a particular emphasis on promoting local innovators within the defense industry, as announced by Hyacinthe Zour©, the president of the exhibition's permanent committee.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Hyacinthe Zour© highlighted the potential of local innovators during a conference in Ouagadougou on May 6, 2025. He noted the existence of numerous creations and innovations in Burkina Faso's defense sector that often go unrecognized due to a lack of support and visibility. The upcoming exhibition aims to rectify this by providing a platform for these innovators to showcase their work.
The exhibition, held at the Ouaga 2000 Conference Center, will feature an innovator competition where participants can propose solutions in defense and security. This initiative, similar to the first edition's "akarton," encourages young individuals to offer innovative solutions that could aid in combating terrorism.
Organizers have launched a call for applications, and there is significant interest from young people, including those from the diaspora. The competition opens on May 7, 2025, at the Ouaga 2000 Conference Center. Zour© assured that there are guarantees in place to support young innovators in developing their projects.
The exhibition's theme, 'Defense, security and civil protection: challenges and innovative approaches for peaceful and prosperous territories,' will guide the event's activities, including equipment exhibitions, expert demonstrations, and discussions on topics like cybersecurity, cyberdefense, artificial intelligence, and cooperation.
