Burkina Faso’s Action Plan for Stabilization and Development Sees Increased Implementation in 2024

Ouagadougou: The National Steering Committee (CNP) of the National Development Policy (PND) reviewed the annual implementation of the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development (PA-SD) for the year 2024, noting an execution rate of 81.9%. This represents an increase of 8.5% from 2023.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo, who also presides over the National Steering Committee, highlighted the progress during a meeting in Ouagadougou. He emphasized that this result underscores the dedication of ministerial departments, local stakeholders, and partners, despite being open to further improvement.

The prime minister noted several achievements, such as improvements in infrastructure, enhanced food security, resource mobilization, and efforts to support internally displaced persons (IDPs). He also mentioned that the evaluation of the PND implementation for 2025 sets the stage for developing the next policy, focusing on the sovereignty and grassroots development of the Burkinabe people.

Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo urged stakeholders to contribute actively to creating a new development framework that leverages the nation's intrinsic wealth. Minister of Economy Dr. Aboubacar Nacanabo praised the collective effort that led to the 81.9% performance, citing the recapture of 71% of the national territory as significant progress.

Despite these successes, Dr. Nacanabo pointed out ongoing challenges, including providing comprehensive support for vulnerable populations, reducing inequalities, fostering income-generating activities, and executing structural infrastructure programs. The National Development Policy is in effect from 2021 to 2025.
