Ouagadougou: The Ministry of Economy and Finance recently convened the first annual session of the National Technical Committee for the National Development Policy (CTN-PND) to evaluate the performance report for 2024 and offer recommendations for policy improvement.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session, led by Rachid Soulama, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, focused on the 2024 results of the National Development Policy (NDP) 2021-2025. This meeting aimed to develop proposals to enhance the design and execution of the future development framework, integrating the vision of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traor©.
Soulama emphasized that the committee’s role includes reviewing the 2024 implementation of the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development (PA-SD), identifying challenges, proposing solutions, and addressing strategic issues for the Steering Committee. Despite obstacles, significant progress was recorded, achieving an 81.94% execution rate for the PA-SD in 2024.
The achievements include a financial accomplishment rate of 71.30%, reclaiming 71% of national territory, resettling nearly one million internally displaced persons, creating 45,000 jobs out of a 50,000 target, and issuing 1.49 million CNIBs. Soulama noted ongoing security challenges, acknowledging that these issues impact the plan’s execution.
