Burkina Faso-Yaadga- UPF Peace Ambassadors: 70 Personalities Consecrated Ambassadors of Peace

Ouahigouya: In its permanent quest for peace in Burkina Faso, the El Hairia Foundation in partnership with the Federation for Universal Peace, proceeded on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Ouahigouya, to the installation of 70 people as actors in the promotion of peace in the Yaadga region and beyond. These are personalities from the different social strata of the region, who have been chosen to wear the "ambassador of peace" scarf in view of their daily commitment to peaceful coexistence between communities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Cheick Malick Oudraogo, president of the NGO El Hairia, mentioned that these people were selected thanks to their permanent involvement in inter-community dialogue and harmonious living together in cultural and religious diversity. "Our choices do not take into account the religion, ethnicity or material wealth of the recipients. They are those who carry out actions in the search for peace advocated by the current authorities of our country, our only compass," he said. These people are now relays to inculcate in others the universal values of peace.

Abdou Oudraogo, a member of the Federation for Universal Peace-Burkina Faso, expressed that the appointment of peace ambassadors will cover all regions of the country because, for him, peace-loving people live in all regions of Burkina Faso. "We will therefore do everything possible to find them and invite them to become more involved in the implementation of peace," he said.

Among the newly appointed ambassadors are Abdoul Salam Ouarma, journalist and man of culture, Karim Sawadogo, provincial director of education of Zondoma, and Marcel Sawadogo, in charge of missions at the presidency of Faso. These men and women are committed to persevering in actions that contribute to maintaining or finding peace and tranquility in their respective communities.
