Burkina Faso: The Public Interest Group-National Volunteer Program in Burkina Faso (GIP-PNVB), in collaboration with the National Office of Major Projects of Burkina (BN-GPB), is spearheading a voluntary sweeping operation across three regions of the country. This initiative aims to improve sanitation and hygiene in local communities. According to Burkina Information Agency, the general director of GIP-PNVB, Djourmité Nestor Noufé, stated that this civic action aligns with the Presidential Initiative for Community Development. Mr. Noufé emphasized that the project seeks to promote eco-citizenship by educating communities about the dangers of environmental degradation and enhancing living conditions. The program will include several activities, notably awareness sessions to instill core values such as volunteering, civic-mindedness, citizenship, patriotism, and unity. Scheduled activities will commence from November 16 to 18, 2024, in Gaoua, South-West region; from November 25 to 27, 2024, in Banfora, Cascad es region; and from November 29 to December 1 in Bobo Dioulasso, Hauts-bassins region. A total of 700 volunteers will participate in this inaugural phase, with plans to expand the initiative nationwide in future editions.
