Ouagadougou: The government announced Thursday, following the Council of Ministers, the vaccination of nearly 14 million poultry against priority animal diseases for the 2024-2025 campaign in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Minister Delegate for Animal Resources and Fisheries, Amadou Dicko, stated that this annual vaccination campaign aims to reduce the impact of animal diseases on the national economy and ensure animal health safety. Mr. Dicko highlighted that the campaign was an opportunity to introduce major innovations for more effective results. These innovations included centralizing vaccination operations, enhancing logistics for vaccine distribution, and introducing digital platforms for monitoring operations and electronic payment for vaccines directly by farmers.

The campaign achieved notable results, with the vaccination of 2,100,000 cattle, 3,500,000 small ruminants, 70,000 carnivores, and 13,700,000 poultry. Amadou Dicko emphasized that these efforts are part of the broader Agropastoral and Fisheries Offensive initiative.
