OUAGADOUGOU, Burkina Faso - The Burkinabè government, in collaboration with its partners, plans to rehabilitate the Bobo-Banfora-Ivory Coast border and Banfora-Orodara roads with an investment of over 152 billion FCFA to enhance regional trade, economic exchanges, and the sale of agro-sylvo-pastoral products.
According to Burkina Information Agency, 2024, "The overall cost of the project is 232.84 million euros, or 152 billion 735 million 633 thousand 805 CFA francs. This project is financed by the Burkinabè State to the tune of 2 billion 836 million 803 CFA francs, the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB)." The project aims to strengthen cultural exchanges and social cohesion at both the national and sub-regional levels.
The government has authorized the financing agreement for the project, pending approval from the Transitional Legislative Assembly.
