Burkina Faso to Recruit Interpreters to Support Diversification of Strategic Partners

OUAGADOUGOU — The Burkinabè government has authorized the recruitment of interpreters-translators for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2024 to enhance communication with its expanding network of strategic partners.

According to Burkina Information Agency, 11 interpreters-translators will be recruited through a direct competition process, without the requirement for initial training. This recruitment is part of Burkina Faso’s broader policy to diversify its international partnerships, a strategy that has gained momentum since Captain Ibrahim Traoré assumed power. The government emphasized the necessity of this recruitment in light of the evolving challenges faced by the country’s diplomacy and the increasing demands on the Interpretation and Translation Office.

Countries such as Russia, Iran, Turkey, and China, along with organizations like BRICS, have shown interest in engaging with Burkina Faso, which is currently focused on addressing issues such as insecurity, terrorism, and resisting imperialist influences.
