Burkina Faso: The President of Faso Highlights Economies of Scale as a Lever for Growth

Burkina faso: The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, affirmed on Wednesday that the year 2025 marked an important step in the cleaning and consolidation of the Burkinabe economy, with a particular emphasis on achieving economies of scale in strategic sectors.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in his end-of-year message to the Nation, the Head of State indicated that the construction of infrastructure by endogenous means, particularly in the fields of agriculture, defense, and public works, has enabled the State to significantly reduce costs and optimize the use of public resources.

'The efforts made in agriculture, defense, and infrastructure, by building our own facilities, allow us to achieve significant economies of scale,' he stated, emphasizing that this approach contributes to controlling the administration's operating expenses.

Captain Ibrahim Traore also mentioned the energy and water sectors, where new initiatives are underway to pool investments and strengthen national capacities, with the aim of reducing costs and improving access to basic services for the population. He indicated that economies of scale free up resources for investment in key sectors.

According to the President of Burkina Faso, this economic strategy is part of a broader effort to strengthen economic sovereignty, supported by the digitalization of financial management, the fight against fraud, and the upcoming introduction of certified electronic invoicing. The Head of State finally assured that the continuation of economies of scale, combined with the direct exploitation of mineral resources, will make it possible from 2026 to significantly increase the gross domestic product and to lay the foundations for an emerging Burkinabe economy, resilient and geared towards endogenous development.
