OUAGADOUGOU, The Superior Council of Communication (CSC) on Tuesday suspended the French television channel TV5MONDE for six months and imposed a fine of 50 million FCFA.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the suspension and fine were enacted following tendentious remarks made by journalist Newton Ahmed Barry on the channel. The decision marks a significant move in Burkina Faso’s media regulation landscape, aiming to address what authorities deemed as inappropriate content broadcast by TV5MONDE.
