Burkina Faso Sees Boost in Security Forces with Graduation of 2,069 Police Officers

Ouagadougou: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ou©draogo presided over the graduation ceremony of 2,069 police officers from the 54th class of the National Police Academy (ENP), known as “Hope for the Fatherland.”



According to Burkina Information Agency, this graduating class, named “Dimmeh Suudu Baaba” in Fulfulde, comprises 1,997 non-commissioned officers and 72 municipal police officers. The Prime Minister emphasized that the name symbolizes the hope placed by the Burkinabe people and authorities in these new officers. He highlighted their readiness to be deployed to help reclaim parts of the territory.



The 54th class has selected Minister of Agriculture, Commander Isma«l Sombi©, as its patron. Minister of Security Mahamadou Sana addressed the graduates, stressing the expectation for them to play a pivotal role in ongoing efforts to reclaim national territory. He urged the new officers to uphold exemplary leadership and integrity in combating terrorism and extremism.



Commander Isma«l Sombi© was chosen as a patron for his exemplary values and leadership. The general delegate of the class, Cheick Hamed Isaac Baguian, expressed confidence that their training in state security and public safety will enable them to tackle current security challenges effectively.
