Burkina Faso Proposes Candidate for Director General of ASECNA

BANGUI — In a significant diplomatic engagement, a delegation from Burkina Faso, led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Karamoko Jean Marie Traoré, met with President Faustin Archange Touadéra of the Central African Republic. The meeting occurred on August 13, 2024, during the commemoration of the Central African Republic’s independence.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Minister Traoré conveyed a message of fraternity and solidarity from President Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso to President Touadéra. The discussion highlighted the deep-rooted friendship and cooperative ties between the two nations, emphasizing their commitment to sovereign integrity. During the meeting, Minister Traoré formally presented Burkina Faso’s candidate for the position of Director General of the Agency for Air Navigation Safety in Africa and Madagascar (ASECNA).

President Touadéra welcomed the Burkinabè candidacy, committing to a thorough review based on the candidates’ qualifications and potential contributions to the esteemed Pan-African institution.
