Burkina Faso President’s Visit to Moscow Strengthens Bilateral Ties

Moscow: His Excellency the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAOR€°, met with President Vladimir PUTIN at the Kremlin, discussing several issues of mutual importance for both nations.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting aimed to enhance cooperation between the Russian Federation and Burkina Faso, particularly highlighting the shared history and future opportunities for collaboration.



Captain Ibrahim TRAOR€° expressed gratitude to President Putin for the invitation to the commemorative event of Russia’s victory in World War II. He acknowledged the sacrifices made by the Russian people toward global freedom. This visit marked a significant step in opening new avenues for cooperation between the two countries.



The discussions emphasized the need to overcome obstacles and strengthen ties, especially in the field of knowledge transfer. President Putin reciprocated the appreciation and noted the symbolic nature of the visit, highlighting the longstanding friendship between the nations. He recalled the participation of approximately 30,000 Burkinabe in the fight against Nazism, drawing parallels to the current joint efforts against terrorism and extremism.



Both leaders agreed on the importance of working together to bolster cooperation in various sectors. Captain Ibrahim TRAOR€° underscored the priority areas of education and technology, aiming to develop military and industrial capabilities in Burkina Faso. The Burkinabe President emphasized the need for a strong army and national development, framing it as the essence of their ongoing struggle.
