Ouagadougou—President Ibrahim Traoré instructed his ministers on Thursday to take stock of the civil servants present at their workplaces every two weeks, aiming to control the workforce and the payroll. The directive was issued during a government seminar focused on meeting the needs of the population and the efficient management of public resources.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the seminar, structured around budgetary regulation for the current year, preparation of the 2025 budget, and control of civil service agents, was held to ensure better management of public resources. President Traoré emphasized the importance of directing financial resources towards impactful actions to improve living conditions. He highlighted upcoming initiatives in education and health, including building modern schools and lecture halls.
The President also called for a simplification and efficiency in budget execution for 2025. Controlling the number of civil service agents is crucial for managing salary expenditures. President Traoré instructed ministers to provide a biweekly report on staff presence to compare with figures from the Civil Service and the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Foresight.
