Burkina Faso President Announces Zero Tolerance Policy on Corruption for 2024


Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of the Transition in Burkina Faso, has declared a zero-tolerance stance on corruption for the year 2024. In his New Year message on December 31, 2023, he called on the Burkinabe people to join the fight against this pervasive issue.



According to Burkina Information Agency, The president highlighted that despite ongoing efforts, the phenomenon of corruption persisted throughout 2023. For the upcoming year, Captain Traoré announced the initiation of a robust anti-corruption campaign. He urged all institutions and structures involved in combating corruption to enhance their efforts to eradicate this issue from Burkinabe society.



This announcement aligns with the commemoration of International Anti-Corruption Day on December 9, 2023, by ASCE-LC and its partners. The theme for the event was ‘The Fight Against Corruption, an Integral Part of the Anti-Terrorism Fight’. On this occasion, they called on the Burkinabe government to integrate anti-corruption measures as a key element in combating terrorism.
