OUAGADOUGOU: The President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, has announced that the first road construction brigades, established under the ‘Faso Mªbo’ initiative, will become operational shortly. This development is expected to enhance the mobility of the nation’s combat forces by improving essential road infrastructure.

According to Burkina Information Agency, President Traor© revealed that the necessary equipment for these brigades is en route and will soon be deployed to facilitate the combat forces’ movements on battlefields. This announcement was made during the President’s New Year message on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in Ouagadougou.

President Traor© emphasized the crucial role of road infrastructure in supporting the effort to reclaim national territory. He noted that throughout 2024, numerous road projects have commenced in both urban and rural areas, aligning with this strategic objective.

The ‘Faso Mªbo’ initiative aims to establish road construction brigades in each region, enabling swift intervention where needed. The President stated that the initial brigades are set to be operational in the coming days, which will aid in opening up regions currently underserved by road networks, thereby fostering improved communication and development opportunities.
