Ouagadougou: The Director General of the Public Interest Group-National Volunteer Program in Burkina Faso (GIP-PNVB), Djourmite Nestor Noufe, opened a first aid and emergency safety training session for volunteers on Wednesday, December 3 in Ouagadougou, on the sidelines of International Volunteer Day (IVD).
According to Burkina Information Agency, this training brought together more than 100 volunteers from all regions of Burkina Faso. Its aim is to equip participants with the practical tools and essential reflexes they need to continue serving effectively and safely.
Djourmite Nestor Noufe, the Director General of GIP-PNVB, emphasized that Burkina Faso is in a context marked by multiple security, social, and humanitarian challenges. He highlighted that knowing how to provide assistance "means saving a life or acting effectively in an emergency situation."
Noufe stated that the initiation of this training is about "enabling volunteers to have practical tools and essential reflexes in order to act effectively and safely." He also encouraged participants to pay close attention and make the most of the training.
The training session is being provided by the Red Cross. As a reminder, the 2025 International Volunteer Day (IVD) is under the patronage of the Prime Minister, His Excellency Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo, and will be held from December 3rd to 5th, 2025, in Ouagadougou under the theme: "The Popular Progressive Revolution: Role and Contribution of Volunteers."
