Burkina Faso Newspapers Highlight National Crisis and Citizen Watch Demonstration

Ouagadougou - The recent issues within the LONAB and the citizen watch's response to accusations against the Burkinabè army dominated Burkina Faso's newspaper headlines on Monday.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the crisis at LONAB led staff and their sales force to demand intervention from the head of state during a press conference last Friday. Additionally, the private daily L'Observateur Paalga reported a work stoppage by the same groups to protest disparaging remarks by the finance minister. Meanwhile, Sidwaya covered a demonstration at the United Nations headquarters, where the citizen watch protested allegations of civilian massacres by the national army, deemed by them as biased and undermining the efforts against terrorism. L'Observateur Paalga noted the demonstrators' demand for a retraction of these accusations to restore the army's honor.
