OUAGADOUGOU – Burkina Faso’s major newspapers today prominently featured the government’s response to the recent terrorist attack in Barsalogho and its oversight of the 2024 direct competition examinations. Headlines and reports detailed both the supportive visit to the injured from Barsalogho and a government delegation’s scrutiny of the exam correction process.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the injured from the Barsalogho attack received visits on Sunday from government ministers in charge of communication, security, health, humanitarian action, and the army’s chief of staff, emphasizing the nation’s solidarity. The publication highlighted the government’s commitment to a strong response to prevent such attacks and to provide all necessary humanitarian assistance to help victims recover swiftly.
In a different sector, the private newspaper Le Pays covered the government’s involvement in the correction of tests for the 2024 direct competitions. The paper reported on a visit on Thursday by the Minister of Public Service, Bassolma Bazié, to the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM). This visit underscored the government’s efforts to ensure transparency and integrity in the recruitment process for state agents.
Furthermore, L’Observateur Palgaa, another leading private daily, noted that alongside government officials, representatives of the candidates were also present to observe the correction process. The Minister of Communication reassured candidates and the public about the transparency of the correction process, affirming that nothing would compromise the examination’s fairness.
