Burkina Faso Mourns Loss of Iranian President and Officials

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso — Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister, Me Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Iranian President Ebrahim Raïssi and several senior officials following a helicopter crash. The Prime Minister described them as steadfast allies and supporters of Burkina Faso’s transitional government.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Prime Minister signed the book of condolences, recognizing the Iranian leaders for their commitment to a multipolar world and respect for national sovereignties. The tragic incident occurred on Sunday, claiming the lives of President Raïssi, his Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, and other officials. The Prime Minister conveyed his condolences on behalf of the Burkinabè people, extending sympathy to the families of the deceased and the Iranian nation.
