Ouagadougou: The Secretary General of the Ministry in charge of Justice, Harouna Kadio, has issued a call for national mobilization for the upcoming 3rd edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC), scheduled to begin on March 26 and run through April 9, 2026.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Harouna Kadio emphasized that this year's edition is centered on the theme "Let's produce Burkinabe, let's consume Burkinabe: our plate, our pride," aiming to promote the consumption of local products. Kadio made these remarks during a press conference in Ouagadougou, underscoring the importance of instilling values such as patriotism, integrity, discipline, solidarity, and a sense of duty among the citizens.
Kadio stated that the JEPPC is more than just a series of activities; it is envisioned as a collective awakening. He stressed that the success of the JEPPC depends heavily on citizen participation, urging people to support national producers and pass on patriotic values to future generations. "Our food can become a peaceful weapon of sovereignty," he stated, inviting all Burkinabe to unite in making this initiative a success.
Luc Damiba, the special advisor to the Prime Minister, reflected on the achievements of previous JEPPC editions, highlighting initiatives like the "Stars of Faso" award for civic engagement, blood donation campaigns, and educational conferences. He also mentioned the creation of robes for magistrates and teacher-researchers made from Faso Dan Fani, along with the establishment of "Faso Mªbo" and the "Labaal" brigade, which are part of the broader objectives of the JEPPC.
In addressing the national context, Kadio noted the challenges facing Burkina Faso and a collective drive towards reclaiming sovereignty and national dignity. The JEPPC, therefore, serves as a vital strategic tool in this regard. The second phase of the JEPPC is planned for October 2 to 16, 2026.
